เนื้อหาของหลักสูตร ตอนที่ 1 โครงสร้าง | Overview of curriculum

หลักสูตร MIDI Orchestration นี้ประกอบด้วย 3 รายวิชาหลักคือ
1 ออร์เคสเตรชัน 1 (ORch 101)
2 ออร์เคสเตรชัน 2 (ORch 102)
3 มีดีออร์เคสเตรชัน 1 (MIDI-O 1)
และ 1 รายวิชาเสริม คือ
4 Logic Pro for MIDI-O

สำหรับวิชาที่ ออร์เคสเตรชัน 1 (ORch 101) นั้นจะเรียนทั้งหมด 8 ครั้ง ครั้งละ 2 ชั่วโมง โดยผู้เรียนจะได้รับการฝึกฝนการเรียบเรียงเครื่องดนตรีสำหรับวงออร์เคสตราตั้งแต่ยุคคลาสสิค (Classic Era) จนถึงยุคโรแมนติกตอนต้น (Early Romantic Era) โดยจะได้เรียนรู้ถึงงานระดับอมตะของนักประพันธ์ดนตรีชั้นครูในยุคสมัยอย่าง Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Joseph Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven และ Franz Schubert เป็นต้น วิธีการเรียนแบบ "ผิดเป็นครู" และศึกษาจากวิธีการทำงานจริง ๆ จนกระทั่งสามารถขัดการปัญหาในการเรียบเรียงสำหรับวงออร์เคสตราขั้นพื้นฐาน (การจัดระดับเสียง การ transpose เครื่องดนตรี การจัดตำแหน่งของเสียงเครื่องดนตรี และการจัดน้ำหนักของเครื่องดนตรี) ได้เป็นอย่างดี

ออร์เคสเตรชัน 2 (ORch 102) จะเป็นวิชาต่อเนื่องจาก ออร์เคสเตรชัน 1 โดยมุ่งเน้นการเพิ่มศักยภาพในการสร้างสีสันของเครื่องดนตรี ในวิชานี้ผู้เรียนจะได้ศึกษาการเรียบเรียงเสียงของเครื่องดนตรีกลุ่มต่าง ๆ เพื่อให้เกิดสีสันอย่างที่ต้องการและการผสมเสียงเพื่อให้เกิดเสียงที่มีความน่าสนใจ โดยจะได้เรียนรู้จากงานของนักประพันธ์ดนตรีที่มีความโดดเด่นในการใช้สีสันอย่าง Hector Berlioz, Carl Maria von Weber, Peter Illyich Tchaikovsky, George Bizet, ไปจนถึง Nicholai Rimsky-Korsakov, Gustav Mahler และ Maurice Ravel เป็นต้น

MIDI-O หรือมีดีออร์เคสเตรชันเป็นวิชาที่จำเป็นในการทำงานอาชีพดนตรีประกอบต่าง ๆ ในปัจจุบัน เนื่องจากการสร้างสรรค์ดนตรีประกอบในปัจจุบันโดยเฉพาะในประเทศไทยมักจะมีงบประมาณที่จำกัด การจะว่าจ้างวงดนตรีขนาดใหญ่อย่างวงซิมโฟนีออร์เคสตราเพื่อบรรเลงเพลงสักเพลงจึงเป็นไปได้ยากจนถึงเป็นไปไม่ได้เลยทีเดียว จึงจำเป็นต้องมีเครื่องมือที่จะช่วยให้งานต่าง ๆ สำเร็จไปได้ด้วยดี แอ็บพลิเคชันอย่าง DAW (ย่อมาจาก Digital Audio Workstation) ค่ายต่าง ๆ จึงมีบทบาทสำคัญในงานดนตรีในปัจจุบันเป็นอย่างมาก การเรียนวิชานี้จึงจัดระบบการเรียนเป็น 12 ครั้ง ครั้งละ 2 ชั่วโมง
โดยวิชา MIDI-O 1 นี้จะเรียนถึงการประยุกต์ใช้เครื่องมือต่าง ๆ ใน DAW เพื่อการสร้างเสียงออร์เคสตราที่ฟังสมจริง ไม่ว่าจะเป็นตัว sampler synthesizer เอ็ฟเฟ็คชนิดต่าง ๆ ที่จำเป็นในขั้นพื้นฐาน ฯลฯ

Logic Pro for MIDI-O วิชานี้จะเป็นการปูพื้นฐานสำหรับผู้ที่จะเรียนวิชาต่าง ๆ ที่กล่าวถึงด้านบน (โดยเฉพาะ MIDI-O) ควบคู่ไปกับการเรียนออร์เคสเตรชันทั้งสองตัว เพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมสำหรับการเรียนวิชา MIDI-O ในที่สุด วิชานี้จะเรียนทั้งหมด 12 ครั้ง ครั้งละสองชั่วโมง

อัตราค่าเล่าเรียน อยู่ที่ชั่วโมงละ 1000 บาท (นักศึกษาชั่วโมงละ 500 บาท) โดยสามารถชำระได้ทันทีหลังจากการเรียนแต่ละครั้ง หรือจะสะดวกชำระรวดเดียวทั้งก้อน (1000x16 = 16000 บาท หรือ 1000x24 = 24000 บาท) ก็ย่อมได้

แนะนำหลักสูตร | introduction

เปิดไปแล้วครับ หลักสูตรการเรียบเรียงเครื่องดนตรีสำหรับวงออร์เคสตรา หรือที่เรียกว่า ออร์เคสเตรชั่น (orchestration) เพื่อใช้โปรแกรมในซอฟท์แวร์ผลิตดนตรีอย่าง Logic Studio, Live, Cubase, Pro Tools ฯลฯ หลักสูตรนี้ออกแบบและสอนโดย อ. บุญรัตน์ ศิริรัตนพันธ ผู้ประพันธ์ดนตรีให้กับงานสำคัญ ๆ ระดับประเทศและนานาชาติมากมาย ไม่่ว่าจะเป็นการแสดงในพิธีเปิดและปิดการแข่งขันกีฬามหาวิทยาลัย "แม่โดมเกมส์" และ "จามจุรีเกมส์" ดนตรีในภาพยนตร์เรื่อง Season Change...เพราะอากาศเปลี่ยนแปลงบ่อย ดนตรีประจำสถานีโทรทัศน์ Thai PBS และอื่น ๆ อีกมากมาย

จากประสบการณ์ของ อ. บุญรัตน์ พบว่า มีนักแต่งเพลงจำนวนมากในบ้านเราสามารถใช้ซอฟแวร์ผลิตดนตรีประเภท DAW หรือ Digital Audio Workstation ค่ายต่าง ๆ ได้เป็นอย่างดี และมีความต้องการหรือมีความใฝ่ฝันที่จะประพันธ์ดนตรีสำหรับวงออร์เคสตรา แต่ขาดทักษะในการเรียบเรียงเสียงสำหรับวงดนตรีที่พิเศษนี้ได้อย่างถูกต้อง ทำให้เสียงที่ผลิตออกมานั้น ขาดความสมจริง ขาดมิติ และ "แข็ง" ในทางกลับกันนักแต่งเพลงอีกจำนวนหนึ่งมีความสามารถในการทำออร์เคสเตรชันได้เป็นอย่างดี แต่ขาดความรู้ในการทำงานบน DAW ก็ไม่สามารถที่จะสร้างสรรค์งานออกมาได้ถ้างานที่ได้รับมานั้นมีงบประมาณที่จำกัด หรืออาจจะใช้เครื่องมือไม่ถูกต้อง เสียงที่ได้ก็จะ "แข็ง" เช่นเดียวกัน

เพื่อที่จะแก้ปัญหาดังกล่าว หลักสูตรที่ออกแบบมามีเอาไว้เพื่อสร้างทักษะความเข้าใจในการเรียบเรียงเสียงสำหรับวงออร์เคสตราตั้งแต่พื้นฐาน โดยจะเน้นการเรียนอย่างเป็นธรรมชาติ คือจะเน้นที่การปฏิบัติจริงพร้อมการเฉลยโดยมีตัวอย่างจากงานดนตรีอมตะของนักประพันธ์ที่สำคัญอย่าง Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert, Ludwig van Beethoven ไปจนถึงงานของ Hector Berlioz, Peter Illyich Tchaikovsky, Gustav Mahler และ Maurice Ravel เป็นงานต้นแบบ

การแก้ปัญหาที่กล่าวมาแล้วนั้น จะเป็นการปูพื้นฐานไปสู่การสร้างเพลงขึ้นมาบน computer โดยจะมีการเรียนต่อในวิชา MIDI Orchestration อีกหนึ่งวิชา ซึ่งจะเป็นการผนวกเอาความรู้ที่ได้จากการเรียนวิชาก่อนหน้าและการโปรแกรม MIDI มาประยุกต์ใช้ร่วมกัน

การประยุกต์ร่วมกันดังกล่าวจำเป็นต้องมีความรู้ในด้านการใช้ software DAW เข้ามาประกอบด้วย อ. บุญรัตน์ จึงได้ออกแบบคอร์สการใช้ software DAW อย่าง Logic เพื่อการโปรแกรม Orchestra ดังกล่าวโดยจะมุ่งเน้นไปที่การใช้ MIDI และ plugin เสียงของวง Orchestra ชั้นนำ อย่าง East/West Quantum Leap Symphony Orchestra เป็นหลัก ผนวกกับการใช้ plugin เสริมชนิดอื่น ๆ อย่าง EQ, compressor, reverb เป็นต้น

เมื่อรวมเอาทั้ง 4 คอร์สที่เอ่ยมาทั้งหมดนั้นเข้าด้วยกัน (ORch 101, ORch 102, MIDI O, Logic Pro for ORch) จึงกลายเป็นหลักสูตร MIDI Orchestration ที่เชื่อว่ามีประสิทธิภาพ จริงจัง ใช้งานได้ทันทีแม้ระหว่างที่กำลังเรียนไม่ครบทั้งหลักสูตร และเมื่อจบหลักสูตรแล้วก็เชื่อว่าจะเป็นฐานสำหรับการศึกษาในระดับสูงต่อไปได้

หลักสูตรนี้จึงเหมาะสำหรับผู้ที่ศึกษาดนตรีในระดับปริญญาตรีและโทที่ต้องการศึกษาเพิ่มเติมเรื่องการเรียบเรียงเครื่องดนตรีสำหรับวงออร์เคสตรา โดยมุ่งเน้นไปเพื่อการสร้างเสียงที่เหมือนวงออร์เคสตราจริง
